Our Mission

Crafting Change Through Premium Liqueur

At the River's Root

Deep in Shizuoka lies Kawane—a name that literally means "river root," marking the headwaters of the Oigawa River. This remote mountain village harbors Japan's last primeval forest on the main island, protected by the Ministry of Environment as a natural treasure. The entire region sits within the UNESCO Minami-Alps Biosphere Reserve, recognized as a model for sustainable development where human activity and biodiversity thrive together. At KVTC, our journey to find the best yuzu led us to Kawane—a place where exceptional fruit and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference came together.

Supporting the Hands That Support Us

KVTC is proud to partner with local farmers who transformed abandoned tea fields into premium yuzu orchards. Through years of persistence, they have come to restore depleted soil to create yuzu with exceptional aroma, and perfect acidity that captures essence of Kawane's misty mountain terroir.

Every yuzu for 33 Yuzucello is hand-peeled by local mothers and community elders who carefully extract only the precious zest, free from the bitter pith beneath. This partnership ensures our pursuit of quality creates meaningful income for Kawane's residents.

Building Tomorrow, One Bottle at a Time

This first release of 33 Yuzucello is our proof of concept—that premium liqueur and community impact can flourish together. Your support helps us scale this model: more bottles mean more jobs for local families, more farmland brought back to life, and more hope for rural communities across Japan
